This past May I linked up with very lovely owner Kristan of Guru Vintage + Modern located in Bath, Maine about styling and collaborating with some of her timeless vintage pieces. With her brick + mortar opening up next week (!!) I couldn’t be more excited to share some of my casual looks I created this past Summer with my very own Guru finds. Kristan has a knack for curating high quality fabrics such as cotton, linen, silk, wool, etc. and has been in the vintage world for years – making her an advocate for sustainable consumerism and not being afraid to bring a little (or a lot) of vintage into contemporary style. Stay tuned on her Instagram via @guruvintagemodern for her grand opening! But don’t worry ya’ll, you can also shop with her online.
Shuffling through her racks I settled on these off-white loose cotton / linen trousers, the sheer leopard print midi dress and this perfectly breezy washed blue button up midi dress. This year, specifically this Summer, I finally feel like I’ve found a balance between my love for vintage and contemporary with mostly having fun with looks and not taking anything too seriously. Mixed in with vintage goodies are my Beatrice Valenzuela ‘sunflower’ classic sandals, Deiji Studios lilac linen top, secondhand sample sale New Balances and as always an array of Baggus.
I’m looking forward to styling these pieces as Summer turns into Fall and seeing more high quality goodies from Guru.
