Building a Home

For the last week, Ryan and I have been moving our things into our new apartment downtown and setting it up perfectly before we both move in after our wedding day – May 6th! It’s been exhausting but an incredible journey – both being able to create a space that we feel completely comfortable and at peace with. After only living in my parents house and Ryan living in a tiny studio – it’s been such a privilege to turn this two bedroom apartment into exactly what we want it to be.

Roc Girl Gang founder, designer and my fav gal Sarah Knight created this killer minimalist canvas piece – perfect for this natural light we get in our bedroom & a nice ode to our city we love so dearly. It ties well with our simple IKEA clothesrack. Find one of your own on her Etsy HERE //

Our 1980’s white & wood table is probably my favorite piece in the whole apartment. We scored it at a local furniture store – Abode in the South Wedge that specializes in mid-century modern furniture for a steal – and it came with 5 chairs in great condition. It adds so much life to the kitchen and it doesn’t hurt our food & coffee look mighty fine on it.

As this month carries on it’s going to consist of building more furniture, working late nights and putting lots of tender, love and care into our new home. Our next purchase: a very very large plant haul.
